The ARC Centre for Complex Systems (ACCS) is offering a Summer Research Studentship for a third or fourth-year undergraduate for 10 weeks (negotiable with the project leader) between November 2008 and February 2009. Students who are thinking about a research career or going on to study subjects related to complex systems, science and engineering are particularly invited to apply.
The appointment will be at The University of Queensland, St Lucia campus, on a casual basis for up to 36.25 hours/week. Students who have completed third year will be paid $22.44 per hour (about $813 per week) and students who have completed fourth year, $22.94 per hour ($831 per week).
Tool support for model checking probabilistic Behavior Tree models
Project description
The Dependable Systems stream of the ACCS has developed the modelling notation of probabilistic Behavior Trees (pBTs) that allows the user to incorporate stochastic information into a system model. pBT models can be translated into the input notation of the probabilistic model checker PRISM. The project aims at implementing the translator.
Skills/experience required
Essential: good communication skills; good programming skills (preferably Java experience)
