The ARC Centre for Complex Systems (ACCS) is calling for applications for top-ups to Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) and the University of Queensland Postgraduate Research Scholarships (UQPRS). Successful candidates must study at the University of Queensland in 2008, on a project related to the ACCS's research program, and must be co-advised (at least) by an active ACCS participant.
The top-up amounts will be approx $4 000 in 2008 (exact amount to be confirmed). The other terms and conditions of ACCS scholarships will apply. Due to budget constraints, it may be necessary to limit the number of top-ups offered, and selection will be made according to best fit with ACCS goals. It is not expected that top-ups will be renewed beyond the end of 2008.
The three areas of its research program that the ACCS will support for top-up applications are:
- energy networks,
- air traffic management,
- requirements modelling (or dependable computer-based systems)
All topics in these areas will be considered, but ones that compliment existing projects are likely to get preference.
How to apply:
To apply for a top-up from the ACCS, you must first apply for or hold an APA or UQPRS scholarship in an ACCS related area. For all details of APA and UQPRS scholarships, including how to apply, conditions, and details of an information session, see www.uq.edu.au/grad-school/apa; applications must be made by 15 October 2007.
To apply for an ACCS top-up to an APA/UQPRS scholarship, see Top-up Application Procedures. Top-up applications also close on 15 October 2007. Applicants will be notified in January on the outcome of their top-up application.
