Participation

The ACCS encourages participation in its research programs.

Join an ACCS mailing list

Anyone is welcome to join the ACCS e-mailing lists to receive regular announcements of seminars and other Centre activities. Simply email the Director with your request. Please specify your interest in the Centre and your preferred email address.

There are currently three ACCS emailing lists:

  • Centre participants - used for administrative tasks within the centre
  • Seminars - used to announce seminars, workshops
  • Announcements - such as conferences and special issues, which are likely to interest people who are unable to attend the ACCS seminar series due to geographic location

Become a Centre participant

To become an official Centre Participant you need to be actively involved in an ACCS project. Centre Participants are granted access to internal ACCS Web pages and can apply for funding for activities related to the Centre’s core research program. To get involved with a Centre project, contact the Project Leader. To apply for Centre Participant status send a short email to the Director detailing the nature of the Centre-related project and your involvement in it, including start and end dates.

Research Higher Degree students (at any university) may also be given Centre Participant status if they're working in an ACCS-related area and have an ACCS researcher on their advisory team.

Industry

The Centre feeds ideas, discoveries and techniques to government and industry to improve their current practices and seed innovation. Industry is invited to talk to us about problems that may be addressed by a complex systems approach. Government funding for collaborative research is available through ARC Linkage-Projects. Please contact the Director to discuss possible involvement.

Students

Research by postgraduate research students contributes significantly to the Centre's longer-term research goal.  See details of research students and their projects.

We offer summer research studentships to later-year undergraduate students.

Research Higher Degree students can apply for scholarship top-ups for APA and related scholarships.

Our general brochure for students provides an overview of complex systems and ACCS research.
